This delicious recipe is inspired by one of my Pakistani friend it’s part of their traditional desserts .and I love this scrumptious,tempting dessert which is cooked with richness of nuts,ghee ,sugar & rice . Garnished as per choice.

  2. 1/2 teaspoon orange food colour
  3. As needed Water for cooking rice
  4. 1/2 cup homemade mawa(recipe is posted on my profile)
  5. 1/2 cup ghee
  6. 4-5 green cardamoms
  7. 1/2 cup sugar
  8. For garnishing:-
  9. 1/2 cup mixed nuts boiled (cashews,almonds,raisins)
  10. as required Used readymade gulab jamuns for garnishing(red & white)
  11. as needed Homemade tutti frutti for garnishing (recipe is on my profile)

Instructions to make to make Shahi zarda

  1. Firstly mix clarified ghee,milk,milk powder for preparing instant mawa in microwave mix well and pop it in microwave in 2-3 intervals the mawa is ready set aside to cool.
  2. Further for orange rice I have washed & soaked basmati rice for 30 minutes then added orange food colour and boiling it until 70-80% cooked and drained its water spread it on a plate for separated strands of rice. Further take a wok add ghee to it and crackle cardamoms for 30 seconds then pop in the cooked rice and sugar mix with light hands and set it on low flame burner to cook for 3-4 minutes once the sugar melts it will be nice & juicy off the flame burner.
  3. Now add 1/2 mawa mix with rice lastly when it’s warm pop it in a serving plate and garnish with nuts,gulab jamun,mawa,tutti frutti and enjoy it...!
