Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Zarda:
- 1/2 kg Sela rice
- 1.5 cup Sugar or according to taste
- 1/2 tsp Orange food colour
- 2 cup Desi Ghee
- 3-4 Cardamom
- 3-4 Cloves
- 1 stick Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Kewra water
- 1/2 cup Nuts
- 1/2 cup Jellies(ashrafi) in different colour
- Khoya as u like
- Gulab jamun as u like
Instructions to make to make Zarda
- Soak sela rice for 3-4 hours. Boil rice until more then half done (but not full done) with cloves & cinnamon stick, strain & set aside
- In a Saucepan, add sugar, food colour & 1 cup water, when sugar dissolves turn off the flame, sheera is ready
- In another pan, heat ghee with cardamom then add sheera with rice, mix it well. Put on dam for 15-20 minutes or until all sheera dried
- Add kewra water, mix it well
- Add khoya, nuts, Gulab jamun & jellies
